Off the top of my head – yfs1.com

So I didn’t plan to review this one next. Why did I? Because at my favorite webmaster forum (other than my own), I saw the title to his latest blog entry called Making Your Directory Stand Out.
It appealed to me, because I’ve been running 2 directories for a while, and needless to say, directories are dime a dozen now. There are some good ones out there such as the Alive Directory, which he points out, but the vast majority doesn’t provide any value whatsoever.

Once I’ve read his post, I continued reading other parts of the blog. What I like a lot, is how he gives first hand account to the suggestions that he makes. You can tell that Jason, the owner of the blog, knows what he is talking about, none of his posts are simple repeats of other people’s news, or hearsay.

which I believe are chosen wisely. He is one of the first who will critizise a site or business that is doing something wrong. His compliments as well as his negative feedbacks however seem to be dead on. I recommend Off the top of my head highly as one of those blogs that you want to bookmark and check back whenever you have some time. Note it on your calendar. Normally a wise thing to do is see how often a blog is updated. If it’s 2-3 times per week, then check it every 5 days or so. Also use the search function, type in a few keywords of interest and see what might pop up. You may be surprised what useful info you may find.

Ok, so I’m not a fashion fanatic. Whatever is clean and looks decent … I’ll wear it. I’ve always appreciated a good style in women, but don’t watch shows or keep up with what’s the latest trends.
So right now I’m quite surprised about having spend some time reading thru Fashion News without getting bored at all. What I like a lot about the blog is that there is no overkill on anything. One post is about handbags, one about clothing, then rings … you can tell that the person blogging is really into this. It becomes infectuous.

Celebrity Fashion definitely is something that interests many. Who doesn’t want to look like the stars which millions admire. Without spending all of your life savings that is.

You will also find some posts like Louis Vuitton designing in (the) dark talking about “the worlds ugliest boots” making fun of the taste (or lack thereof) which some public people like Mariah Carey seem to have.

All in all I give the blog a strong 4! It’s fresh, fun to read, has some cool pics and seems to be in touch with the latest. If you’re into fashion, bookmark it. If you’re not, make this blog the only fashion related resource that you will visit on a regular basis.

No, that is not the title of his blog. It’s Skills to pay the Bills. But that’s what’s coming to my mind whenever I hear the name Shoemoney.

Jeremy “Shoemoney” Schoemaker, President and CEO of ShoeMoney Media Group, INC is blogging about stuff that he knows about, and stuff that he cares about.

What does he know about? Pretty much anything related to webmastering and webmasters’ needs. Most of all affiliate programs and how to get ranked high in the search engines.

Jeremy is a “gutt blogger”. He blogs by instinct. If it interests him, he’ll get right on it. If it doesn’t … you probably won’t catch him devote a second to it. The blog has a great variety of subject matters. It’s not always easy to find what you’re looking for right away though. There are random thoughts, news, personal stuff and amongst it great information about affiliate marketing and what new gadgets have come out. Posts like Contextual Ads Image Tool.

Jeremy also is hosting a radio show on Webmaster Radio called Net Income. I highly recommend checking it out.
